Architecturally designed by award-winning ASC Architects, the elegant Ranfurly residences offer one and two-bedroom apartments with beautifully designed living spaces.

Positioned on spacious landscaped grounds, the relaxed yet refined aesthetic of this senior living complex was expertly delivered by C3 Construction.

With a full continuum of living options to enable ageing in place, the safety and security of older residents were of utmost importance in this project.

Our Solution

To ensure the correct balance between design intent and compliance, Soteria acted in a consulting and supply role to deliver a range of customised specialty doors for this project.

The team at C3 Construction required a compliant doorset that accommodated the additional customer requirements the client was looking for. The heritage intent that defined the village called for grooves and raised panels on the face of the fire doorsets, and the door frames required a custom 25mm reveal.

As experts in blending compliance and regulatory requirements with different design aesthetics, Soteria was approached to provide expert design input on this project, resulting in a recommendation for several different doorsets to meet different requirements across the site.

Soteria also undertook a project-specific fire test with the custom raised panel doors to prove compliance and ensure the ongoing safety of Ranfurly’s residents.

Our Infernoguard 30-minute fire doorsets in single and double variants were supplied, a product that is well-known for its excellent performance and stringent testing. With customisable finishes, it is suitable for a wide range of interior styles including the heritage look and feel of Ranfurly village.

The Result

A total of 327 fire-rated doorsets were supplied for this project, along with specific testing and compliance documentation, giving the client peace of mind that their doors will perform over the long term. The necessary grooves and raised panels on the face of the fire doors and the custom reveal on the frames was no problem for our local New Zealand manufacturing team facility.

We successfully delivered compliant doors that met the project requirements within the necessary time frame, and the client has now gone on to complete other buildings in the same precinct using Soteria doors.
