Tags play a crucial role in ensuring fire door safety and compliance. Issued by the door manufacturer following installation and the submission of completed declarations, these tags serve as official confirmation that the doorset complies with NZS 4520:2010. They are a mandatory requirement for building completion and certification. Tags must be permanently affixed to the doorset. Inspected regularly—ideally on a monthly basis—to confirm they remain undamaged and securely in place.
Choosing not to have tags issued for your doorset? This can significantly delay or prevent the approval of building safety and compliance. Without certification, the door is not officially recognised as compliant, and in the event of a fire, it may not perform as required. This poses a serious safety risk, potentially endangering building occupants and compromising the overall fire protection of the property.
