The Ramada group of hotels spans 60+ countries with more than 850 individual locations, and the brand is renowned for its inviting, high-quality rooms and facilities. The hotel group’s expansion meant that a new Auckland location was planned for construction in the waterside suburb of Newton.

The contract was secured by experienced hotel builders Safari Group and designed by Studio 37 Architects, who worked together to bring this new destination to life.

As a long-term client of Soteria Doors, Safari Group turned to our team to provide compliant fire-rated and non-fire rated doors throughout the project.

Our Solution

This project required a coordinated approach by the architects, the construction team at Safari Group, and the Soteria Doors team to ensure the outcome was a success.

Working to detailed safety and product specifications mandated by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Studio 37 designed the building to international best practices for hotel design. The construction team then ensured full compliance with all local standards and requirements, collaborating with Soteria to fit out rooms and spaces from the Penthouse to Level 10 with a series of high-quality doors.

Soteria supplied a total of 413 doors comprising both fire-rated and non-fire rated architectural doorsets, which complemented the modern clean aesthetic of the hotel’s interior spaces.

For the rooms with a fire door requirement, the Infernoguard 30-minute and 60-minute doorsets were supplied, and for non-critical areas, our team was able to supply matched non-fire rated doors that perfectly blended with the architect’s vision for the space. Suitable for a range of commercial and residential projects, our locally made Infernoguard range meets all NZ fire safety criteria and complies with the NZ Building Code.

The Result

Soteria Doors provided detailed advice, compliance and specification support along with efficient supply, delivering all doors to site on time across a 6-month period. The time and cost efficiencies gained by Safari Group ensured that they were able to commence use of the hotel facility on time and within budget.

Safari Group has since engaged Soteria Doors to assist with two other projects in the luxury accommodation sector.
