Set in Tauranga’s CBD, Vantage is a 10,000sqm+ multi-residential development, featuring ground-floor commercial tenancies with four levels of residential apartments above. Expertly designed by Edwards White Architects, the modern and spacious apartments feature harbour views and an outlook across to Mt Maunganui.

This sustainable urban development is a result of creative design, expert advice and effective communication, ensuring that the highest levels of both compliance and aesthetics were achieved.

Soteria’s part in this project included design input and problem-solving to research the best solution, resulting in nearly 500 doors being delivered for this project.

Our Solution

Soteria was approached by Fosters Construction to supply design input for the prefinished laminate to the face of the fire doorsets. A finish that offered fire compliance and a modern look that fit the design intent was a must.

The team at Soteria researched available pre-finished laminate options on the market, settling on a pre-finished laminate option that was applied to the faces of various doors. Powdercoated matching aluminium beading was provided for vision panels, creating a seamless finish.

Our scope included 498 doors, incorporating 30 and 60-Minute fire doorsets, acoustic doorsets and non-fire rated doorsets.

The Result

Soteria was able to deliver on time and within budget, supplying all fire doorsets and non-fire rated doorsets to the project along with seals required to achieve acoustic requirements.

The pre-finished laminate facing ensured the installed doors balanced visual appeal with cost-effectiveness, whilst also retaining stringent fire compliance where necessary.
